Description
Known for his midcentury modern fixtures with a good-natured sense of humor, modern lighting designer George Kovacs managed to create a very meta piece in the Pontil chandelier. Featuring six etched opal glass shades, this sculptural chandelier resembles a glassblowing setup and is named Pontil after the iron rod used in glassmaking. Essentially, the light Kovacs made shows lights being made. Each of the six spheres are attached to six rods, or pontils, shooting through the center of the fixture. The shape of the Pontil itself recalls a classic Sputnik design, giving it an undeniable midcentury modern flair. Use it above your kitchen table, in your living room or as a statement piece in a bedroom or office.
